Alfredo Nava

Alfredo Nava. Sr, was born on October 28, 1938, and passed on August 22, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fortunata and Luis Nava; his siblings, Luisa Medina, Enrique Nava, and Luis Nava, Jr., and his wife Maria Aurora Gavilanes. He is survived by his children, Alfredo Nava, Jr., Alberto Nava (Jaclyn S. Nava), Margarita Renteria (Lorenzo G. Renteria); five grandchildren, Alberto Nava, Jr., Samuel E. Nava, Alex Renteria, Dante A. Renteria, Jacob S. Nava; five siblings, Maria Harding, Martina Yarbrough, Maria Girvin, Lorenzo Nava, Jesus Nava; and many nieces and nephews. For thirty years, Alfredo ensured the safe operation of hundreds of trains that traveled across America as a diesel mechanic for Union Pacific Railroad. He was a great mentor to family and others in his trade. Visitation 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 9, 2021 Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 7712 S. Rosedale. Military Honors will follow at 11:30 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
