Alonso A. Rubio

April 22, 1954 — January 4, 2021

In loving memory of Alonso A. Rubio Jr, who heartbreakingly passed away at the age of 66 on January 04, 2021, with his wife Veronica Pinales Rubio, son Alonso A. Rubio III and daughter Liliana Rubio Jimenez by his side. He was born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico on April 22. He attended Lydia Patterson Institute and played on the basketball team. He moved with his family to El Paso as a young teen in 1968. Alonso graduated from Bel Air High School in 1971, later earning his Associates Degree in Business Management in the 1980’s. He always pushed us to pursue our education and it was equally important for him to set an example to others. He was a role model for our family. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboy fan, loved getting family together over a barbecue. He particularly enjoyed going on vacation to California, Hawaii and Spain. He was looking forward to going to San Pedro one day to enjoy the seafood there. Alonso was a great man, son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was hard working, caring, loving, and stern but a devoted family man. He had a big heart, always there for anyone who called on him needing a helping hand. Alonso joins his father Alonso A. Rubio Sr. He is survived by his mother Sara Rubio, his wife Veronica P. Rubio, his son Alonso A. Rubio III (Erica), his daughter Liliana Rubio Jimenez (Enrique) survive Alonso, and his grandchildren, Brandon A. and Jacob A. Jimenez. Alonso is also survived by his sisters Mary (Daniel) Garcia, Norma (Stanley) Rought, Sara (Garner) Warren, Araceli (Eric) Difrancesco, Sandra Beard, Veronica (Arlona) McGill, Olga Rubio, Angela Mora and Sara McGrail, his brothers Gustavo (Celia) Rubio, Mario Rubio, and Rene (Yvonne) Rubio and many nieces and nephews. Words cannot describe how greatly you will be missed. It has not been easy to understand why God has taken you from us but our family is comforted knowing that you are now resting peacefully surrounded by all your loved ones who have passed before us. We will hold onto all the beautiful memories and carry you always in our hearts. We love you and look forward to the day we can all be together again. Alonso A.
