Andres Reyes Sanchez much beloved, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on November 10th 2013 at the age of 90. He was born on November 30th 1921, in Del Rio, Texas. He graduated from San Felipe High-School in 1940. He married Arabel Josephine Hoak Martinez in 1950. He served in the US Army from 1941-1966. He was in the WW2 European theater and served as Army CID before, during and after the Korean War. He was instrumental in the successful relationship between the San Blas/Kuna Nation and U.S. He retired from the Army as a Master Sergeant. As a resident of El Paso, Texas and since 1951 he worked for the El Paso I.S.D. for many years first as a truant officer and later as a bus monitor. He attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He loved his country and family very much. He is survived by his sons, Andres Sanchez Jr. and Julio Antonio Sanchez; his daughters: Lucy Elena Carlotta Hill, Linda Marie Anne Mellinger, and Josephine Elizabeth Martinez; as well as his 12 grandchildren and 3 great grand-children. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years and son Jose Ricardo Nicolas Sanchez. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/ Rosary at 7:00pm on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
