Bobbie J. Lavigne

October 24, 1938 — September 9, 2017

Bobbie Jane Lavigne, 78 passed away peacefully on September 9, 2017. She was born in Lake Charles Louisiana, on October 24, 1938. She graduated from Sulfur High School in 1954. She was a devoted mother and wife for many years. She went on to become a registered nurse later in life. She played the dulcimer in the Piney Wood Pickers and she was in the Prayer Shawl Ministry at First United Methodist and St. Paul Methodist. She also volunteered at the Sabine County Food bank. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting and sewing. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for many years. She is preceded in death by her son, Albert Arthur Lavigne and Brother,Harry Albert Tarver. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Henry Arthur Lavigne. She is also survived by her two sons, Richard Allen and Donald Ray Lavigne; four grandsons, Matthew, Ryan, Max and Jacob; great grandson, Jackson; sister, Sandra Wilson; brother, Steven Tarver. Visitation will be from 5PM-9PM Thursday September 14, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home- Northeast with reflections of life at 7PM. A Funeral Service will be said at 12 Noon Friday September 15, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home- Northeast. A Committal Service to follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
