Concepcion (Connie) L. Zamarripa

Mrs. Concepcion Lagunas Zamarripa (Connie) passed away at Sierra Providence Hospital on February 20, 2021. Lifelong resident of El Paso, TX, Jefferson High School graduate, worked 25 years as a substitute for the El Paso Independent School District. Preceded in death by her parents Alberto and Elisa D. Lagunas, brothers Andy and Miguel Lagunas, sister Mary Yanez, and grandson Jonathan Leyva. Survived by her husband Santiago J. Zamarripa, her children: Linda Leon (Virgil Leon), Lilly Leyva (Juan Leyva), Santiago Zamarripa Jr. (Melissa Zamarripa), and Lisa Zamarripa. Grandchildren: April Najera (David Najera), Cynthia Leyva, Juan Leyva Jr. (Matt Knowlton), Jay Leon (Michaela Flores), Samantha Zamarripa, Stephanie Zamarripa, Julian Leyva, Santi Zamarripa. Great Grandchildren: Layla Najera, Araya Leon. Brothers: Alberto Jr and Juan Lagunas. Sisters: Mague Montoya and Romelia Lagunas. Visitation for Mrs. Zamarripa is from 1:00-4:00pm on Tuesday March 2, 2021 with vigil/rosary at 2:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast located at 4631 Hondo Pass. Mass at 10:00am on Wednesday March 3, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church located at 9025 Diana Dr. Internment will follow at Fort Bliss Cemetery at 11:00am (only immediate family of 10 allowed at cemetery). Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had so much love for her family and it showed in everything she did for them. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We love you mom!
