Corina M. Holguin

Corina Madrid Holguin was born in the San Jose neighborhood of El Paso, TX on March 27, 1929 to Satornino “Ito” Madrid and Margarita “Ita” Colmenero. Corina was the fourth of seven siblings. Corina married her childhood sweetheart, Santiago “Jim” Holguin, and celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage with Jim in April of 2016. Corina proudly worked for the Ysleta Independent School District for many years, primarily in the cafeteria as a Food and Child Nutrition specialist at Presa Elementary School. Corina returned to the Lord on November 14, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim and is survived by her son Eddie M. Holguin, her grandson Eddie Holguin, Jr., two great-grand daughters, Abigail & Rebekah, her two sisters, Irene Esquivel and Lily Nichols, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Visitation will take place at Sunset Funeral Home Americas, 9521 N. Loop Drive, on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 5:00p.m. - 9:00p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 131 S. Zaragoza Rd., on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
