Darryl Lewis Bost, 78, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2020. Darryl was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Lewis Homer Bost and Iva Mae Jones. He was a graduate of Ysleta High School.
He passed away Nov. 23, 2020.
Darryl was a musician who played the El Paso clubs and at the Lobby in Juarez. He quit music after losing part of a finger to a rattlesnake bite.
He was a cowboy, breaking horses and trapping for a living. He served a short stint in the Army before becoming an ironworker. He later became an over-the-road driver, driving for Artcraft and retiring from Ryder.
When he wasn’t working, he could be seen riding his motorcycle in tails and a top hat.
Darryl is preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Iva and his siblings David Bost, Jennette Bost, Lennette Gaff, and Donna Long; nephew Michael Mattix and niece Charlotte Scott. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, children Danny, Joe, Chris, and Mary Lee Bost. His nephews Robert (Trish) Long, Keith (Cynthia) and Lewis Gaff. His nieces Teresa (Willie) Williams, Shelly (Johnny) Long, Lia (Thomas) Veatch, Linda (David) Beckman. His grandchildren Joey, Melina, Madison, Daisy, Jayden, Alexis, Alyssa, Mariella, Cheyenne, Maia, Christopher. He will also be missed by his many great-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews.
Services for Darryl will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, Northeast. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Desert View Cemetery, Chaparral.
