Dean James Castello

Dean James Castello, 85, of El Paso Texas, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2018. Dean was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 10, 1932. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 23 years and retired as SFC in May of 1979. After his retirement, he attended El Paso Community College, proceeded to work with RCA and then taught electronics at El Paso Community College ATC. He enjoyed traveling with his family, reading extensively, working on computers, photography, fishing, and was also an avid history enthusiast. He was a great man, loving father, brother, and friend, devoted husband and someone who could make you laugh whether you wanted to or not. He will be missed immensely. He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte. They were married on October 5th, 1963 and enjoyed their 54 years of marriage together. He is also survived by brother Wayne Castello, brother James Castello, sister Joellen Pruett, children, Cindy Dailey, Don Welch, Linda Trent, Helen Castello, Dena Waddell, Jay Castello, son-in-law Michael Waddell, son-in-law Tom Dailey, daughter-in-law Romana Welch, five wonderful grandchildren Megan, Allison, Lauren, Joey, April , 11 precious great grandchildren, and many family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Murrin Castello, son Dean Castello Jr. and grandson Josh Story. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Interment to follow at 2:30pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
