Eddie Arthur Swift

Minister Eddie A. Swift, 69, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 25, 2019. He passed away at home at 7:33 a.m. in the morning with his children by his side. Eddie was born on July 23, 1950 in McRae, Georgia to Ruth E. Salomon and William Swift. He was educated in McRae Public Schools and graduated from Central High. Soon thereafter he enlisted into the United States Army where he served for 20 years. He traveled around the world and upon being stationed at Ft. Bliss, he met the love of his life, Magerine (Adams) Swift who blessed him with a set of twins, Veronica (Baby “A”) and Monica (Baby “B”). Eddie also served his county by working at El Paso’s Sheriff’s Department for 13 years. Along side his work he also served at Unity Missionary Baptist Church as a Deacon before accepting his call to become a minister. His beloved wife, Magerine, preceded him in death as well as a grandson, Damonte Richardson, Jr. Eddie Swift leaves behind to cherish his memory two loving and devoted daughters: Monica Swift of El Paso, Texas and Veronica Swift of El Paso, Texas, a Nephew/Son Johnny Adams of El Paso, Texas and Adopted Son Rashard Johnson of Killeen, Texas; Grandsons Malachi Green, Eddie Green, Ayden Lee, Jeremiah Swift and Elizah Swift along with a host of God Children and Adoptees. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Sunday, August 04, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00pm on Monday, August 05, 2019 At Sunset Funeral Home Northeast followed by the Committal Service at 2:30pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
