Efrain Mendoza, 69, of El Paso, TX, calmly passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 at his home surround by his family. Born December 19, 1944 in Praxedis, Chihuahua, Mexico, he was the youngest son to Alfonso and Alicia Mendoza and was a father figure to many. Efrain is remembered for the positive lessons he taught others throughout his life, guiding and mentoring those looking for his assistance. He instilled on many his life’s motto, that working hard and working smart is life’s own reward, evident in his over 30 years of working in manufacturing. A jack-of-all-trades, he was known as a self-taught engineer and astronomer, using his love of learning to develop his electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and construction skills, which he passed on to others. He loved being the master-of-fun and enjoyed sharing his passion for the outdoors, animals, the unknown and ancient cultures. Efrain is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ana Mendoza, his daughter, Angelica Soto, and his five sons, Efrain (Claudia), Victor (Gina), Alejandro (Rosa), Alfredo (Elizabeth), and Daniel (Erica) Mendoza. Additionally, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Julia, his sixteen grandchildren, his three sisters, and his brother. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment is Private.
