Ernest Keith McFerson

Ernest K. McFerson, 53, passed away on Monday, June 28th, 2021. Ernest was born in Gary, Indiana on November 5th, 1967. He graduated from Horace Mann High School in Gary. He later moved to Minnesota where he met Martha, who he married in 2001. Ernest worked as a cook at various places. He cooked at Greyhound where he met Martha and even cooked for the Minnesota Vikings. Cooking was his passion, he loved feeding people good food. When he was not cooking (and even when he was), he was singing, dancing and rapping. He was a creative person at heart, writing poetry, inventing things, and even started a website where people can share their talents. Wherever Ernest went, no matter if you knew him or not, he would always joke around and light up the room. Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, Delores Cross and Ernest McFerson Sr., and brother Anthony McFerson. He leaves behind wife of twenty years Martha McFerson, siblings: Sylvia Green, William McFerson and Leonard McFerson, sons: DéJevon McFerson, JéWaun McFerson, Pierre McFerson, Mark Morales, and Amoses Holton, daughters: Delores McFerson, Bithiah Holton, and Claudia Holton. Visitation 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM with a Chapel Service at 12:00 PM, Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina.
