Ernestina R. Medina

Ernestina Medina (Tina) It is with great sadness that the family of Ernestina Medina announces her passing, on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018, at the age of 88. Tina was born to Guillermo and Josepha Rodriguez, in Canutillo, Texas, on November 8th, 1929. She married Jose Delfino Medina on December 17th, 1951. Joe and Tina lived in El Paso, Texas where they raised four children: Oscar Fernando Medina, Jimmy Joe Medina, Ervin Robert Medina, and Linda Ann Baray. Tina leaves her legacy of three children: Oscar Fernando Medina, Ervin Robert Medina (Diane), and Linda Ann Baray (Leonel Jr.). She cherished her six grandchildren: Adelyn Celyna Alanis (Andrew), Benay Justine Carrillo (Jonathan), Ashley Brooke Medina, Devin Ervin Medina, Bianca Maria Medina, and Maya Khristina Medina; and one sibling, Ramon Rodriguez (Enedina). She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jose Delfino Medina, in 2003, and her son, Jimmy Joe Medina (Barbara), in 2008. Her children remember her as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devoted follower of God and excellent caretaker to everyone in her family. She enjoyed singing while her husband played the guitar, and traveling in her RV with her “Honey” and family. Some of her many talents included: gardening (she was gifted with a green thumb), baking, cooking, and immaculate housekeeping. Tina was loved by many people of all walks of life. She was lively and outgoing, and touched many people’s lives with her love, honesty, and wisdom. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 19th, at 9:30 am (sharp) at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery; a memorial service will be held in her honor on the same day at Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina Drive, El Paso, Texas 79915, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
