Ernesto Meza

September 13, 1946 — December 1, 2020

"When he shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make the face of heaven so fine That all the world will be in love with night And pay no worship to the garish sun." Mr. Ernesto (Ernie) Meza, beloved Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Son, Uncle and Friend, passed away on December 1, 2020, at the age of 74. Preceded in death by his beloved Wife, Theresa (Terry) Meza, Ernie is now reunited in his true love’s embrace for eternity. Terry and Ernie shared the blessing of marriage for 52 years and they are forever joined as one, may God be with them always. Ernie loved his family, friends, music, laughter and life. Born on September 13, 1946, Ernie played the violin in his youth, was an exceptional cook spoiling those he loved, and served our country honorably in the United States Air Force. Ernie worked hard for his family as a Sales Manager at Rudolph Chevrolet for many years, where his friends and colleagues valued his work ethic, great sense of humor, and warmth. Ernie is survived by his two adoring sons, Ernesto Meza Jr. (Wife Becki, his Grandchildren Julianne & Kaylin), and Eric Christopher Meza (Wife Tanya Meza, and their children Esai Cristiano Meza & Eriana Cristine Meza). Ernie is survived by his cherished sister Mary Lou Soule and brother Jesus Meza, and preceded in death by his five other close siblings. Ernie had much love for all of his extended family, and loved and adored all of Terry’s family all of his life. His family and friends loved him back, and we will cherish him always. Our family extends a special, loving thanks to the Rodriguez family, Sonia and Rance Molitor, Linda and Terry Harvey, and the staff of the Monte Vista at Coronado for brightening his days and providing our Ernie a world of care, comfort, and times of joy in the final years of his life. Due to current Covid-19 concerns, all services will be private. A celebration of life, with Ernie receiving his well-earned, full military honors, will be held at a later date. Services will be livestreamed on Facebook Live (you do not need a facebook account to watch the livestream) at: https://www.facebook.com/sunsetfuneralhome
