Fred Covington Jr. (Pecos) was born 04/12/1966, in Alton IL. the first born to Fred Covington Sr. and Paulette Vaughn. He was characteristic from the beginning. Throughout his life he had many accomplishments and touched many people. His greatest achievement was his family. April 30th, 1988, he married Ronnita (Robinson) Covington, and the legacy began. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father. Pecos loved and believed in the sacred covenant of marriage and always strived to be the leader his family needed and deserved. He was full of life, ambition, and knowledge. Pecos loved the Lord and was a minister of the gospel. He served until his untimely passing under his Dad, Pastor Melvin Douglas at That Marvelous Light Baptist Church. Dr. Pepper was his drink of choice and almost any food, (without cheese) He was a part of Steeler Nation. He loved his wife tremendously and prided himself on his six children, 13 grandchildren; His legacy: protector, entrepreneur, friend, coach, encourager, fighter & motivator. He loved his mother. He enjoyed watching MeTV because of the Christian values that were evident throughout most of the shows. Pecos was larger than life, so much to so many, what does tomorrow look like without him, we have no idea, but we will strive to make him proud. His boys, his girls and grands all held a special piece of his heart. Pecos passed away two days before his mother. He deserved the best and now he is dancing with his Father, having conversations with his Mama, and visiting with family and friends that left before him.
