Gabriela Mata

GABRIELA MATA entered into the hands of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the age of 59. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and wife and will be greatly missed. She came to America at the age of 14 with her family and graduated High School as Valedictorian, and College, Summa-Cum-Laude with Honors. She was fluent in five languages. She is a veteran of the United States Army and upon completion of her tour of duty taught the 6th grade in EL Paso, TX. She was a devout Catholic active in her church. She is survived by her beloved mother and father Eva & Elias Knotek, her loving siblings Peter & Marcel Knotek, and her devoted husband of 32 years Roland Mata and loving step-children Raymond D. Mata and Sabrina N. Mata. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, with Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church, 930 E. Redd Rd. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
