Genoveva Altamirano

Genoveva “Mamá Geno” Fierro Altamirano was 97 years old when she passed into the arms of her Lord, on Monday, May 3, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 10, 1923 to Eusebio Fierro and Furmencia Mendoza Fierro in Matachic, Chihuahua, Mexico. Predeceased by her husband Luis; son Jesus; brother Antonio; two sons-in-law; Marshal and Marcelino. Genoveva was a homemaker that loved to cook and bake and helped those in need. She was an active member and volunteer of several senior citizen centers. Mamá Geno loved sharing her life stories with family and will be remembered for her generosity and loving spirit. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Luis, daughters, Soledad (Ernesto), Olga (Daniel), Beatriz (Benjamin), Hilda, and Martha (Frank). She also leaves to mourn her passing, sisters, Lucia and “Locha” (Charles). Genoveva leaves 30 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm – 6 pm – Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home- Northeast with the Rosary at 5:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Friday, May 14, 2021, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment to follow funeral mass at Anthony Cemetery, Anthony, New Mexico.
