George Joseph Consiglio, born June 12, 1924, passed away August 30, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebastiano and Johanna Consiglio, sister Rose Fillipone and first wife Lydia Consiglio. He was survived by his second wife Hilda Consiglio, stepsons Jim and Dennis Horan, nephew John Fillipone and niece Joann Timchek, and many nieces and nephews. A good husband to Lydia and Hilda, George always placed their needs ahead of his own.
George was a lifelong member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was very proud of the volunteer labor that he and many men provided to help build the parish hall. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.
George served his country during World War II as a medic at Walter Reed Hospital. After receiving an honorable discharge from the service, he worked for Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, then moved to EI Paso where he worked as a machinist at Fort Bliss for 35 years before retiring in 1981.
Our family wishes to thank the Staff at Global Hospice for their wonderful care and Mrs. Bernie Collins for bringing him communion every week during his final year.
