George Louis Santa Cruz

Early Life George was born in the small copper mining town of Superior, Arizona at Magma Copper Hospital. He graduated from Superior High School in 1974. He was the star pitcher for the baseball team and lead them their 1972 state championship victory. He also earned the All State First Team Merit Award from The Arizona Republic in 1973 for his outstanding ability and sportsmanship in the game of football. He served four years in the United States Army from 1976-1980 at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas where he would meet his wife of 43 years, Teresa. Hobbies, Organization, and Later Years He was employed with Southwestern Bell for 20 years, as a lineman and installer. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 15 years of service, as a machine operator. George was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, which was also the name of his little league team. His hobbies include tending to his lawn, hating on the Dallas Cowboys, and as his father Charles would say - “stirring up some shit.” Preceded in Death and Survived By He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Connie Santa Cruz. George’s memory will live on through his wife Teresa Santa Cruz and their four children, Candace Rios (Husband Jorge Rios), Amanda Santa Cruz, George Santa Cruz, Joshua Santa Cruz (Wife Ana de la Torre), and his grandchildren Gianna Rios, Sienna Rios, and Dominic Rios. As well as his brothers, Charles Santa Cruz, Richard Santa Cruz, John Santa Cruz and their families.
