Guadalupe Russell

December 20, 1940 — March 21, 2020

Guadalupe Solis Garcia was born on December 20th 1940, in Chihuahua, Mexico to a union of Celso and Margarita Solis Garcia. Lupe, as she became known to her family and friends was the younger sister to Lydia and older sister to Gilberto. Lupe met and married Henry Earl Russell in 1960 in Juarez, Mexico. They shared a long happy life of social partying, dancing, traveling, and ultimately finding their religious beliefs. Together they raised five children, Celso, Patricia, Charles, Harold, and Henry Jr, until 1997 when Henry Passed. She was also preceded in death by her mother Margarita, father Celso and brother Gilberto. She is survived by all her children, sister Lydia Anderson, and a wealth of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family members, and friends. To all her family and friends she was known as Lupe, Auntie, Tie, mema, gma, grandmother, mama Russell, madre, and jefa. Lupe was beloved by all for her sincerity, kind hardheartedness, and willingness to do anything for anyone. Let us not forget her feistiness and fire, the many nights of dancing to the music of Sam Cook and the happiness and laughter shared in those moments. She is now forever dearly loved and will always be deeply missed. God saw the road was getting rough, the hill was hard to climb. He gently closed those loving eyes and whispered, “Peace be thine”. The weary hour, the days of pain The sleepless nights are passed. The ever patient worn-out frame has found sweet rest at last. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
