Helga "Lilly" Pollock

May 22, 1937 — December 5, 2021

Helga “Lilly” Pollock, beloved wife, mother, and Oma, passed away on December 5, 2021, at the age of 84. She was born in Munich, Germany, in 1937, shortly before World War II began. After living through the bombardment of her town and losing her father in the war, she fell in love with a handsome American soldier stationed in Germany. They married, started a family, and moved back to the States, making El Paso, Texas, their new home. She worked tirelessly to take care of her little family, dedicating those years of her life to raising her babies and supporting her husband in his career in law enforcement. She was a fantastic cook, and was known to throw a great party. In her golden years, she loved old classic movies, Judge Judy, Jeopardy, and cheesecake, but nothing could excite her like a day at the casino. She had a sharp wit and loved to tell stories about her childhood and growing up in Germany after the war. She was strong in every sense, and was fiercely protective of her family. You never had to wonder what she thought about something – she would let you know. Her family was the center of her life, and she was the center of her family. She was met in heaven by Riley, the love of her life and her husband of fifty-two years. She leaves in her legacy her daughters and sons-in-law, Geri Pollock and Andy McQuade, Theresa and Al Knoch, Connie and James Chesshire, and Pamela and Michael Reilly; her grandchildren, Candice and Nolan Blanchette, Justin and Kerrie Knoch, and Elliot and Erika Knoch; her great-grandchildren, Riley, Valery, and Elliot; her dear family in Germany, including her sister Erna Feuerstein, and brother and sister-in-law Franz and Irmi Fischer; and many friends and extended family members. Committal Service will take place at 1:00 PM, on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Please visit online registry at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
