Ildefonso Fabicon Faeldog

Our Dad, Ildefonso Fabicon Faeldog, passed away on May 25, 2019 in El Paso, Texas. He is survived by our Mom, his wife of 63 years, Estelita Sandajan; his children Ester Pfanenstiel and her husband Duane, J.R. and his wife Martha Ann and Mike; and his grandchildren, Desaray and Dacoda Pfanenstiel. He is also survived by his sisters, nephews, and nieces and their families both in the Philippines and USA. He is preceded by our siblings, Robert, Estela and Elaine; his parents, Silverio Faeldog and Rosario Fabicon Manaog and his brothers and sisters. Dad was born on May 30, 1926 in Romblon, Mindoro, Philippines. He enlisted in the US Army in Guam in 1953. As an infantryman (11B), he completed two tours in Vietnam. During his first tour, he was a Vietnamese interpreter. While in active duty, Dad competed in 45-caliber handgun competitions and earned a Master rating by the NRA. He was very proud to be in the United States Army, and retired as Platoon Sergeant in El Paso in 1974. He was a great husband and a wonderful father. He is now with our sisters and brother. We love you and miss you already, Dad. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 5:30pm with a Eulogy at 5:30pm to 6:00pm followed by a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Funeral Mass at 1:00pm Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9025 Diana Drive. Committal Service to follow at 2:30pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
