Jesus Romero

August 16, 1932 — January 12, 2022

Mr. Jesus Romero, also known as (Tuti, Chuy, but best known by his family as Grampis), passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Mr. Romero, a lifetime resident, was born in El Paso, TX on August 16, 1932. He was the last living child, of 16 siblings, of Tiburcio and Gregoria Romero. Jesus leaves behind his loving wife Luz and one daughter, Felicitas (Armando). He was a grandfather to four granddaughters, Lisa Marie, Lorraine Michelle (Anthony Zanker), Melissa Anne (Irma Nava) & Nancy Nicole (William Warren). He was also a great grandfather to Lauren Celeste, Jordyn Dyanne, Aaron Nathan, Alyssa Brielle & William Ezra. He recently had the pleasure of welcoming a great-great grandson, Bryson Jace. Jesus is preceded in death by his daughter, Norma and great grandson, Bryant Scott as well as his parents and siblings. Mr. Romero was a longtime employee of the El Paso County, where he worked as a groundskeeper at Ascarate Park for 45 years. He then retired in 1992. Jesus dedicated his life to his family. Although a man of few words, he was a jokester, he loved gardening, watching movies and WWE. We will miss his smile, his silly laugh and his amazing heart. We are thankful for the 90 years he gave us. Thank you for the memories Grampis! We Love You! Visitation 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Monday, January 24, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina.
