Joephine Margaret DeMartelaere

Josephine Margaret Taylor DeMartelaere, age 87, was welcomed into heaven on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 in El Paso, Texas. Josephine was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1933 and moved to California in the 1960s. Jo married Merle Allen DeMartelaere in 1966, had two children, and made Canyon Country, California their home. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for 54 years, and worked as an Underwriter for Blue Cross of California for 22 years. She was well respected at work and in her community. Jo was best known and will be remembered by her loving family and friends for her joyful spirit, loving heart, fierce protection of her loved ones, and giving soul. Jo was preceded in death by her parents; Albert and Elsie Taylor and her siblings: Rita Taylor, Ed Taylor, Chuck Taylor, Ann Truesdale, and Betty Origel. Jo is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Merle Allen DeMartelaere; children, Diane Marie Brown and David Allen DeMartelaere; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, who cherish and honor her memory. Memorial Service to be held in Canyon Country, California, and burial at Forest Lawn of Hollywood Hills. Mortuary services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home West, El Paso, Texas.
