John Edward Redic

Pastor John E. Redic affectionately known as “Pastor John” was born in Mabank, TX on June 19, 1936. He was 3rd of 8 children born to Marion “Jack” Redic and Iret Redic. Pastor Redic graduated from high school in Trinidad, TX where he was raised and enter the United States Army. He served one extended tour in Vietnam serving as a MEDIC on a field MAT Team and received The Bronze Star with Valor and gave 24 years in service to the United States Army and worked as a MEDIC and after completing the Army’s AMOSIST Program (Acute Minor Illness Clinics) He worked as an AMOSIST and was senior NCOIC of Troop Clinics until retirement in Ft. McClellan, Alabama. Pastor Redic relocated his family to El Paso, TX after retirement from the Army and he earned a degree in Sociology and worked in federal service as a civilian for 11 years at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in Labor and Delivery. Pastor Redic was raised in the Christian faith, but it was during his time while stationed in Alabama he rededicated his life to Christ and became active in the church where he served as a deacon at Macedonia Baptist Church, Anniston, Alabama for several years and then accepted the call into the ministry. He preached his first sermon at Macedonia Baptist Church. Upon relocating to El Paso, Texas Pastor Redic continued to serve as an associate minister at Second Baptist Church where he was ordained and licensed. Pastor Redic serviced as an interim Pastor at Second Baptist Church for three years and Pastor for eight years. Pastor Redic was led by God in 1988 to establish and found Victory Chapel Ministries where the following was birthed Victory Warriors After School Dance & Drill Academy, his personal vision Abigail’s Food Pantry and Victory Prison and Rehabilitation Outreach Ministry in Northeast El Paso where with his wife Pastor Carolyne Redic, faithful members and numerous community partners became trailblazers for community outreach in what was referred to at the time as the “devils triangle” now many other Christian churches and fellowships are established in that area of Northeast El Paso. Pastor Redic met no stranger and loved helping people. Pastoring and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ was not just his call, but his heart. He was a humble servant and was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He was a devoted family man and loved his family. Family was important to him and he believed that mentorship with encouragement and most of all LOVE was key to every young person and not just to those who called him Dad or Paw Paw. He is preceded in death by both his parents Jack and Iret Redic, as well as, his sister Bernice Lee and brothers, William Redic, R.C. Redic, Norris Shepherd and grandson Justus Kitele. Pastor Redic leaves to cherished his precious memories, his devoted wife, Carolyne Redic; his children daughters: Gloria (Peter) Kitele, Maureen Renée Bullitt and Andree Cheree (Ron) Long. Son: Roderick Redic; Three siblings: Ora B. Lee, James (Faye) Redic, Raymond (Phyllis) Redic; Six grandchildren: Gerald Kitele, Jerè (Jesus) Picota, Revè Bullitt, Alexandra Yates, Ronsoni Kahlil Long and Alecia Sa’nae Long; and twelve great grandchildren and a host of in laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and beloved members. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 4:00 PM, with Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Committal Service will take place at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to in support of local veterans and families through; Legacy of Valor, P.O.
