Jon Christopher Atkins

It is with deep sadness and great love that I announce the passing of our beloved Jon Christopher Atkins, at age 37.Jon is survived by his wife, Madeleine Atkins; unborn son, Jon Christopher Atkins, Jr; sons, Brayden Atkins and Brycen Atkins; parents Jerry Atkins and Kathy Gillette; sister Erin Mobley, Grandmother Aileen Morrison. He is predeceased by his Grandparents; Claude Atkins Sr., Dorotha Atkins, Richard Morrison; uncles Gary Atkins and Curtis Morisson. Jon was born in Sturgis, MI on November 12th, 1982. To Jerry Atkins and Kathy Gillette. He graduated Sturgis High School in 2001. On November 2002, Jon join the Army, beginning his military career. Jon served his country starting in Artillery to later become an AH-64 Apache Pilot and to complete his career as an Instructor Pilot. While in the Army Jon deployed on 5 different occasions. Jon lived selflessly; he loved thy neighbor, he gave generously in his 37 years, in death he gave to thy neighbor, being his will to be an organ donor. Jon was a devoted father to his 2 sons, he anxiously awaited the arrival of his 3rd child. As a husband he was loving, caring, the best husband he could be. Jon was; a ray of light to those in need, a child at heart that searched for a smile. He was a brave fighter and protector. Jon was a poem of love to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Private remembrance services will be held in El Paso, TX. And Sturgis, MI.
