Leonard “Jay” Magden, 80, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018.
Jay was born in Boise, Idaho to Forest and Helen Magden, whom both remarried and brought his step-mother Eva Magden and step-father Cecil Cross into his life. He is preceded in death by all of his parents and his only brother, Forest, Jr.
Jay was the father of sons Rick, Randy and Larry, and his daughter Diana. He had 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was an uncle to 4 nephews and a niece.
Jay was drafted in the US Army in July of 1959. He later met the love of his life, Sin Cha, while serving in Korea. He retired after 20 years with the rank of CW2 and they made El Paso their final home.
Jay worked for IC Industries at the Old El Paso Mexican Food Plant while waiting to be hired for his Civil Service position of writer and instructor for the Hawk Systems Division. He continued to serve his country for an additional 24 years.
In his younger days his hobbies included stock car racing, scuba diving, and karate.
Jay was preceded in death by Sin Cha in May of this year.
