Lovatta Rosha "Sha" Yates began this journey on November 04, 1961 to Dorothy Mae Johnson and retired United States Army Freddie Johnson, Jr. in Natchez, Mississippi. On Thursday morning, June 25th, the Death Angel visited Sha at William Beaumont Army Medical Center and said, "Come, my good and faithful servant, job well done.”
Sha accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour and was baptized at an early age in Natchez, Mississippi. She was raised in a military family which granted her the opportunity to travel and reside in various locations such as New Jersey, Germany, and El Paso, Texas. Sha was a strong and beautiful woman who loved to laugh with her charismatic cackle and affectionate smile. She loved her family and friends and had a great eye for fashion and beauty while helping others during her time at Lane Bryant (Cielo Vista Mall) and Fashion Fair (Army AirForce Exchange Services, AAFES).
Sha united in holy matrimony on July 19, 1980 to Alvin Eugene Yates, Sr., retired United States Army and continued traveling the world residing in Maryland, Germany, Virginia, Georgia, Texas, and Panama. She was a loving and devoted wife for 40 years. Sha is survived by her loving husband, Alvin Eugene Yates, Sr.; her three children, Tonisha Monique (Louis) Davis, Tara Odessay Yates, and Alvin Eugene (Stephanie) Yates, Jr.; step-son, Kacey DeDarell Yates; her parents, Freddie Johnson, Jr. and Dorothy Mae Johnson; siblings, Freddie “Juney” (Diane) Johnson III and Gregory (Annette) Johnson; along with grandchildren, niece, nephews, uncles, aunts and extended family and friends.
Lovatta Rosha Yates, 58, Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, with Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 3, 2020, at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast. Funeral Service will be streamed via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sunsetfuneralhome/.
