Marcelo Rios, 71, beloved husband, dad, pa-pa, and brother, went to his final rest on Sunday, January 26, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Marcelo will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years – Antonia; children – Marnia (Mike), Omar (Mina); grandson – Saia; siblings – Emma (Pedro), Emilio Jr., Rosie, Manny (Lucy), Margie (Ruben), Betty, Sammy (Sylvia), Lillian (Jeff); numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren; and Japanese daughter, Harumi Oomori (exchange student). He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilio and Paula Rios; sisters: Lupe, Terry, and Sally. Marcelo was a lifelong resident of San Elizario/El Paso, and member of San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Clint. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and worked for El Paso Electric Company, retiring after 26 years. Marcelo was a kind and generous man who loved his family, fishing, good laughs, the Dallas Cowboys, and his dog Max. If the measure of a man is how he is loved and remembered, Marcelo was a very great man indeed. Memorial Visitation: 4:00-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina. Rosary: 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at San Lorenzo Church, Clint. Funeral Mass: 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at San Lorenzo Church. Inurnment: Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
