After a long and full life, Margaret Elizabeth Barron Daeuble passed away peacefully in her home on December 9, 2020 at the age of 101. Margaret was fondly called “Mimi” by her family and close friends.
Margaret was born in Athens, TX on September 1, 1919, the third child and only daughter of Oran James Barron and Mavit Hardin Barron. She moved to El Paso with her family as a young girl, attended Crockett School and graduated from Austin High School. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she became a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, a sorority she cherished throughout her life. While back in El Paso during a college break, she met Louis Daeuble, Jr. (“Louie”), a meeting that would change her life forever.
Margaret ultimately married Louie in the early 1940’s saying “he was the one that I could not let get away!” Margaret and Louie dedicated their life to creating an amazing family and made an indelible mark on the history, arts and architecture of El Paso. Theirs was a marriage that lasted more than fifty years. Margaret and Louie had three children, Louis Daeuble, III (“Bub”), Jon Michael Daeuble (“Mike”) and Ann Margaret Daeuble (“Annie”).
Margaret developed many lifelong friendships stretching all the way back to grade school. She would go out of her way to make everyone feel welcome and was always the epitome of style and grace. Margaret traveled the world (with a real fondness for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico), but loved being from El Paso and was always so proud of what her family had accomplished here.
She loved her children and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret lived a life most of us can only dream of; being blessed with health, happiness and a family that adored and respected her in every way. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great friend to many.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louie; her children, Bub, Mike and Annie and her first great-grandsons, Drew and Dane Kienle.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Andrew Charles Kienle (Jenifer), Joshua Easter Daeuble, Anna River Daeuble (Joel), Alexander Michael Kienle (Kelly) and Michael Louis Daeuble, and her great-grandchildren, Ava Margaret Frances Kienle, Mia Frances Kienle, Arlo James Smith, Olivia Marie Kienle, Vivian Grace Kienle and Eliot Louis Smith.
All of those who knew and loved Mimi will miss her terribly, but know that she is now exactly where she wants to be, with Louie, Bub, Mike and Annie again. Margaret has been interred at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Louie. A mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and a celebration of her wonderful life will be scheduled for later in 2021.
