Margarita "Margie" A. Mendoza, 63, beloved mother of Victor A. Mendoza and Jeanette Mendoza, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2014 at a local hospital in El Paso, Tx. Margie is survived by her sisters Rosie Marie A. Saucedo, and Beatrice (Ramon) Govea; nephews Danny (Pat) Govea, Tommy Govea, Jason Saucedo; nieces Bernice Govea, Jennifer Evans, Teresa (Laurence) Bierner; and numerous loving relatives and friends. She is preceeded in death by her brother Robert Armenta. She graduated from Ysleta High School in 1969, worked as a medical assistant for many years, and ran a daycare in her home.
After a long time struggle with illness, Margie exceeded doctors' expectaions and survived 7 years with two major organ transplants, and multiple surgeries. She is remembered for her willingness to live, cook, and dance (she loved the Beatles). Her generosity touched the lives of everyone around her, and was seen as a motherly figure. Margie was the sunshine in everyone's life, always ready to make others laugh and ready to feed anyone who came to her door.
There will be a Vigil/Rosary held for Margie at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Saint Jude Catholic Church, 4006 Hidden Way, El Paso Texas 79922. Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 pm at the same church.
