It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Elena Sosa de Dozal announces her passing on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the age of 82 years. Mother of 9: Elvia, Dina, Carmen, Maria Jesus, Socorro, Laura (deceased), Raul, Roberto and Erika. Grandmother of 22: Jose Luis, Marisol, Perla, William, Carmen Judith, Fernando, Mario, Martin, Manuel Jr., Monica, Christopher, Raul Scott, Malenie, Brianna, Paulette, Giovanna, Roberto Jr., Marisol Lorle, Alma Helena, Angel, Lissette (deceased), Hector Alejandro (deceased). Great-grandma of 14. Will be remembered by her sisters, Leonila and Elia and her brother Oscar. Also, by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Maria Elena was born in Mexico and came to the United States with her husband Raul to give their children a better life. Shortly after their move they were divorced. Determined she needed to be independent and strong for her children in this unfamiliar Country, she worked hard till the end. She showed her children that through hard work anything can be accomplished. “She was powerful not because she wasn't scared but because she went on so strongly, despite the fear.” -Atticus Services will be celebrated in memory of Maria Elena on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Homes, 750 N Carolina Dr. Visitation 3pm-9pm, Rosary 6pm, Funeral Service 7pm.
