Maria Gomez Reyes

Maria Gomez Reyes, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2019. Ms. Reyes was a lifelong resident of El Paso County and a motivated leader in the Socorro community having served a term of four years as Socorro City Representative for District 1 with Socorro City Council as well as a proud board member of the El Paso Mission Trail Association. Prior to her political accomplishments, Ms. Reyes was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 25 years as a Network Technician where she also served as a union representative for the better part of 20 years. Ms. Reyes is survived by her children, Stephanee Diaz (James A. Diaz) and Ruben L. Reyes (Anyesha Reyes); Also survived by six grandchildren; Sisters: Blanca Anselmo, Anna Rodriguez, Olga Redsky and Angelica Palmari; Brothers: Ernest, Tomas and James Gomez. Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2019 at 1:00pm to 3:00pm with a Memorial Service at 1:30pm with Pastor Tomas Delgado officiating at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Drive, El Paso, Texas. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas.
