Our loving mother, Martha Switzer, 72, passed away November 6, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of El Paso, she was a graduate of Austin High School. Through her caring nature she became a licensed practical nurse and enjoyed a career of helping and caring for elderly patients for many years.
She loved to read, evident by her small library in her home, shop, and “cut a rug” as she would put it; but above all she loved her family.
She was also the matriarch of an extended family that included - her husband of thirty-six years Marvin Switzer, sons, Jesus Ortiz, Christopher Ortiz and his wife Patricia, Yancey Natividad, and Marvin Switzer Jr. and his wife Yvette. Her brothers included Albert Campos, Mike Campos, and Ricky Campos. She had two sisters, Emilia Herndon and Gloria Hernandez. Her wonderful grandchildren, Betsy Ortiz, Jake Ortiz, Jesus Ortiz Jr., Diane Ortiz, Adriana Torres, Christopher Ortiz Jr., and Drew Switzer.
Martha was loved by so many. Her magnetic personality could light up any room. She attracted people everywhere she went. She will be deeply missed but we are grateful for the lifetime of wonderful memories she leaves behind.
