Marvin A. Brotherton, Sr., loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on February 1, 2021.
Marvin was born in Lewisville, Texas on December 17, 1924 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Prairie View A&M University. Marvin worked for 28 years as a civilian electronic engineer for the U.S. Army at White Sands Missile Range, and later as General Manager of the White Sands Federal Credit Union. He was married to Elora Bernice Fleet and father to two sons, Marvin Jr., and Kenneth. Marvin was active in the El Paso community serving in leadership with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Eastwood Lions Club, NAACP, Council for International Visitors, Prairie View Alumni Association and Toastmasters International.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elora Brotherton, his two sons, Marvin (Davida) and Kenneth (Phaedra), and his granddaughter Devon Brotherton. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 12 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr. in El Paso.
