Merlinda Adela Smith

Merlinda Adela Smith, 82, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017. Merlinda was born in San Andres Island, Colombia on July 12, 1935. She successfully completed her course of study in South America. Merlinda would later marry the love of her life in 1964, Leamon. She basically valued life in general, also loved to socialize with others, and cook on a daily basis. Merlinda worked at William Beaumont General Hospital for numerous years. Merlinda was preceded in death by her parents; Alice Sims and Alfred Martinez; grandparents, Charles Sims and Rogelia Christopher. She joins her husband Leamon Smith in Heaven and leaves behind her sons. Keith and Kevin Smith; many loved ones in South America, and numerous family friends here and throughout the USA. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a Funeral Service at 12 noon on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Committal Service will follow at 1:30pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
