Nathaniel Buckhalter

November 21, 1958 — February 6, 2015

Deacon Nathaniel Buckhalter, Sr., was born November 21, 1958 in Houston, Mississippi to James and Essie Lee Buckhalter. He and his family relocated to Winona, Mississippi when he was a very young age. Nathaniel finished his course in this earthen vessel on February 6, 2015. Shortly after arriving in El Paso, he joined the Unity Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership and pastorage of Pastor O.I. Kirk, Sr., who was instrumental in leading Deacon Buckhalter into a more intimate relationship with Christ. Nathaniel truly enjoyed kingdom work. He was ordained into the office of Deacon in, 1998 under Pastor Kirk and served faithfully in that office since that time. He also thoroughly enjoyed supporting his Pastor in any capacity necessary as well as the activities of the Lovely Sunset District Baptist Association. He was united in holy matrimony with his wife of 32 years on August 21, 1982. He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife, Jeanette Buckhalter. His children: 4 sons - Nathaniel, Jr., Nicholas, Noah, and Nigil and one daughter Natalie all of El Paso, TX. His oldest daughter Naquitta preceded him in death a year ago. He leaves three sisters, Lois Dorrough of Calhoun City, Mississippi; Ms. Fannie (Michael) Davis and Ineser Buckhalter of Winona, Mississippi. Three brothers: Michael (Rosie) Buckhalter, James (Linda) Buckhalter, Jr, and Doc (Janice) Buckhalter, all of Winona, Mississippi. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Pamela Merritt and brothers-in-law, Jerry Merritt of Columbus, Georgia, and brother-in-law Robert Merritt of Winona, Mississippi to cherish his memories. He also leaves us a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. And last but certainly not least, he leaves his church family, Unity Missionary Baptist Church family, and all of connected Christian Church family and friends to cherish his precious memories.
