Octavius Sweeney Jr.

Octavius Sweeney Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2021 in Chaparral, New Mexico. Octavius was born in Tarboro, North Carolina on August 8, 1939. He is preceded in death by his parents, Octavius Sweeney Sr., and Anna Sweeney as well as brother, Nelson Sweeney. He is survived by his beloved wife Julia C. Sweeney, daughters, Lucia E. Schaefer (Louis), Aida A. McKinney (Jerry), Patricia M. Rodriguez (Hector), and Laura L. Caldwell. He is also survived by his sons, Lorenzo Carreon, Octavius Sweeney III, Wilberto C. Sweeney, and Issac L. Sweeney, brothers, William Sweeney, Jessey Sweeney, Archie Sweeney and sister Estela Sweeney as well as 20 Grandchildren and extended family. Committal Service for Mr. Sweeney will take place at 11:00 AM, on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson.
