Oscar Gamez Sotelo

OSCAR G. SOTELO entered into the hands of his Lord and Savior at the age of 99. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed. He was very patriotic and served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a World War II veteran and continued his service as a photographer in Civil Service. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Hector Sotelo, and his siblings, Gonzalo, Armando, Reynaldo, Fernando, Lupe, and Eduardo. He is survived by his loving wife Maria Esperanza Sotelo of 63 years, his children, Elsa A. Keys (Mike), Oscar Sotelo Jr. (Hilda), Benjamin Sotelo (Julie), Maria S. McCool (Gerald), grand-daughter he raised, Atheal Flores (Arthur). He was also survived by 11 grandchildren, Tesia Swanstrom, Joshua Swanstrom, Eric Swanstrom, Lina Sotelo, Oscar Sotelo III, Angelique Sotelo, Dominique Sotelo, Benjamin Sotelo, Luke Sotelo, August McCool, Audrey McCool, and 6 great-grandchildren, Selene Swanstrom, Riley Swanstrom, Stefan Swanstrom, Aiden Sotelo, Arthur Flores and Adam Flores. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at from 9:00AM to 11:30AM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral mass will follow at 12:00PM at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 400 W. Sunset Rd. Internment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 2:00PM, with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, please support our DAV (Disabled American Veterans) at cst.dav.org.
