Patricia "Patsy" Ramirez-Rojas

April 30, 1961 — January 13, 2021

Patricia (Patsy) Ramirez-Rojas passed away after a courageous battle with COVID-19 on Wednesday, January 13th at the age of 59. Patsy was born on April 30, 1961 to Manuel H. (deceased) and Francisca D. Ramirez. She was raised in El Paso with five other siblings: Ernesto, Raquel (Duffek), Manuel Jr., Irene (deceased) and Cynthia Ann Ramirez Moreno. To this day, she remained close to her family and is recognized by them as their fierce defender and protector! She graduated from Coronado High School in 1980 and soon thereafter, married and devoted her life to being a wife and a mother to two beautiful children, her eldest, Michelle Marie Lopez and Ramiro Lopez III. As a young mother, she poured her soul to loving and raising her children. Patsy is an El Pasoan at heart and that's where her roots are, however, she did experience living and working in California. That is where she discovered her passion--in Human Resources. Her motivation to be resourceful and help others to understand their benefits made her a "people person," combined with her humor (and the ability to laugh at herself) became her calling. Patsy loved being in the mix of people, solving problems, acting as an intermediary and most important, advocating for what was right. Although she only stood five foot tall, her personality more than made up for it. If you ever wondered what Patsy thought about you, you wouldn't have to wait too long. Most of the time you heard Patsy before you ever saw her. She was fun-loving and energetic. The person who was always the life of the party. She led an interesting life, full of surprises and by no means perfect, still her family meant the world to her. After living in California for five years, she returned to El Paso and found happiness with her life-long partner of 27 years, Armando Rojas II. Together they were soon blessed with two beautiful children, Armando Rojas III (Mandito) and April Francis Rojas. Patsy did not have a formal degree in social work but she was a social worker in her own right. Always helping family, friends and anyone that needed and sought her help. She defined herself by being of service to others. She never took herself too seriously and made sure you didn't either. Patsy smiled not only with her lips but her eyes as well. She had a smile that made you feel like you were part of the family. She had a knack for making a stranger feel like a close friend or family member, after only a few minutes of talking to her. She had a way of making everyone feel like they could conquer the world. Her energy and gift for motivating others was by far, one of her best and most cherished traits, that is why so many sought her company. Through the years, she became a wonderful cook, always sharing her dishes with family, friends and neighbors. She also dedicated herself to providing transportation to elderly friends, sharing food or just simply helping them to laugh and enjoy the moment. She cared about her appearance and cleanliness, especially when it came to keeping her home clean. Patsy was a beloved mother-in-law to David Sanchez and Melinda Lopez. As the family continued to grow, she became a proud grandmother. As a grandmother, Patsy was a lot about making sure her grandkids were fed and would drop everything when they needed her. She loved her grandchildren and expressed the love for grandchildren was like gold. Her golden treasures include, David Jr., Matthew and Aaliyah Sanchez, Ramiro IV, Arianna and Jude Lopez. They brought her so much joy. In observance of social distancing and out of respect for the battle against COVID-19, a funeral service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Monday, January 25th and will only be attended by her immediate family.
