Phillip Pineda

Phillip David Pineda was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on January 27, 2020, at the age of 56. He was a loyal son and brother, and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Phillip was born in Albuquerque, NM to Gus and Rachel Pineda, the third of 4 children. He moved to El Paso with his family when he was just 5 years old, and lived most of his life in El Paso. Phillip is a 1981 graduate of Cathedral High School, and was further educated at the University of San Diego and UTEP. His working life was spent dedicated to a number of businesses involving sales and logistics for companies in California, Washington and Texas. Additionally, Phillip was a dedicated member of the Cathedral Alumni Association, serving as President of the organization for a number of years. Phillip leaves behind loving parents Gus and Rachel Pineda; brother, Paul Pineda (Jody); and sisters, Nancy Pineda Madrid (Larry Gordon) and Michele Fernandez (Arthur). He is also survived by his nieces and nephew, Angela, Catherine, Paloma, and Nicolas – all of whom he loved very much. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM, with a Holy Rosary at 7:00PM, at Sunset Funeral Home West, 480 N. Resler Dr. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 9:00AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Memorial Pines Cemetery in Sunland Park, New Mexico.
