Rodolfo S. Romo

Rodolfo S. Romo, age 90, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 4, 2021, in El Paso, Texas. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. Rodolfo is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Maria. He is survived by sons, Rodolfo Jr. of El Paso, TX, and Carlos of Artesia, NM; daughters, Susan of Santa Barbara, CA, and Laura of Emeryville, CA; daughters-in-law, Lourdes and Leticia; Susan’s partner, Matthew Parker; grandchildren, Charles, Rodolfo III, Julian, Adrian, Bianca and Christian; granddaughters-in-law, Amanda and Daniella; great granddaughter, Olivia Marie; siblings, Graciela Pacheco, Armando Romo, Olga Fontal and Marta Romero; and many dear friends and relatives, among them Laura Vielledent and Barbara Schoen. Rodolfo was a successful businessman, having owned and operated Popular Shoe Repair for over 30 years. After retiring, he continued in business, helping customers for many years at San Antonio Shoe Company, and for the last ten years, remained active at the Polly Harris Senior Center. He loved music and was a great dancer. Prior to the pandemic, you would be sure to find him at the monthly dances held at Polly Harris. He also had “the gift of gab,” easily making conversation with friends and strangers, alike. He enjoyed giving advice to his children and grandchildren, often with old sayings that still ring true. His quick wit and jokes will be missed by us all. Visitation will be held Friday, August 13, 2021, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a Funeral Mass at 7 p.m., at Sunset Funeral Home-West.
