Rogelio (Kayo) Chavez, 83, passed away May 20, 2014. Rogelio will now join the love of his life and long time companion, Alicia Vallejo. Also he will complete the family circle by reuniting with his father: Romulo, mother; Micaela, brothers; Roberto, Rodolfo, Reymundo (Bibi), and sister; Ramona. He is also preceded in death by his son; Javier and grandson; Michael Isaiah. Rogelio graduated from Bowie High School in 1950. He was an Insulation Contractor, and was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Left to cherish his memory are his 10 children, Sandra, Cynthia(Louis), Michael, Patricia(Gabriel), Estela (Jose), Richard (Elvia), Javier+(Juana), JoAnn (Alfredo), Antonio and Robert. He also had 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Clara C. Chavez, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 4-9 pm Thursday, May 22, 2014, with a 7:30 pm Rosary at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 pm, Friday, May 23, 2014 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Vallejo, Richard Vallejo, Antonio Vallejo, Mathew Sanchez, Gabriel Vasquez, and Richard Chavez. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
