Rosita “Rose” M. Luevano lost her battle with breast cancer on Saturday, October 20th at the age of 64, surrounded by her friends and family. She is survived by her children: Teresa Ortega, Miguel Ortega Jr., Jesus Ortega, and Michelle Luevano; her siblings: Pat Valdiviez, Christina Bowler- Roberts, Linda Barron, Elizabeth Santos, and Emmis Medina; her parents Manuel Medina and Elfie Medina; and her grandchildren.
She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a mother, but she will be remembered above all as a woman of incredible faith. Her faith gave her strength and courage in the most uncertain and painful of times. Her faith gave her hope and helped her to continue to fight until the very end.
Her fierce spirit and kind heart live on in those she has left behind.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation in memory of Rose to help those who are still fighting.
