Santiago Emerenciano González, age 91, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 1:30am in his bed in Anthony, New Mexico. He was a wonderful, prayerful, and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and uncle. He will be greatly missed. Santiago came to the US in order to help his mother keep a home after his father died in 1948. He followed his brothers to El Paso, TX to work as a milker in the dairy industry. Santiago met his life partner in Cd. Juárez, when he was battling a chest ailment, the young lady who was operating the X-ray machine captured his heart. He and Concha, as she is called, married on December 12th, 1954. On this date we celebrate our Lady of Guadalupe, this was a perfect day for them to unite their lives as they were blessed with health, employment and many children. Santiago and his wife and children eventually settled in Anthony, New Mexico in 1960 where they raised their nine living children. They expected their children to better themselves by continuing their education beyond high school. They helped their children where they could all the time. Santiago is preceded in death by all of his siblings, loving parents; Emerenciano González and Juana Balderrama and two of his sons José Santiago and Miguel. Miguel died in 1990 and José in 1994. He lost two of his siblings early in life, he lost his brother José Florentino from a freak accident at the age of 4 and his sister Hermelinda when he was just 7 years old from typhoid fever. He is survived by his wife; María Encarnación (Concha) González, his daughters; Petra Girón (Hector), Juana González, Hermelinda Lockett, Cecilia Torres (Antonio), Magdalena Valdez, and Concepción Angélica (Angie) Del Palacio (Luis), his son; Luis Ignacio González, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. His fine tenor voice was pleasing to all who heard it. Santiago also played the guitar which he learned to play on his own.
