Susan H. Acosta

Susana Hernandez Acosta 68, of El Paso, TX, went to be with our Lord on December 12, 2020. Susana was born May 10, 1952 in Chiapas, Mexico. She married David Acosta on February 9, 2008 in El Paso, TX. She worked and managed Dairy Queens for over 20 years, and was a safe bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines, from where she had recently retired. She was a proud Bear from Bowie High School where she was reigned Miss Beauty Queen of 1970 and she graduated in 1971. She is survived by her sisters Angela Hernandez, Rosario Ferdinand, Josie Aranda and Carmen Hernandez; brothers Juan Hernandez, Antonio Hernandez, Faustino Hernandez and Cornelio Hernandez; sons Joe Martinez, Martin Martinez and Hector Acosta; daughters Katherine Martinez, Loraine Collins and Rebecca Alvarado; Grandchilren David Martinez, Donovan Rivera, Susana Rios, Kaitlin Martinez, Miguel Alvarado, Myleh Alvarado, Diego Arredondo, Vanessa Arredondo, Aiden Acosta, Lavina Rodriguez, Marc Collins, Denise Martinez, Martin Martinez, Jr. and Alex Martinez; and great granddaughter Davira Rios. She was preceded in death by her parents Consuelo and Faustino Hernandez; sisters Magdalena Lopez and Consuelo Camarillo; brothers Jose Hernandez and Santiago Hernandez. Susana loved her entire family and nothing brought more joy to her life than planning and enjoying numerous family events and gatherings. She loved to dance, sing, camp outdoors, cook traditional Mexican style dishes and travel. Vigil/Rosary will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina.
