Twymeni L. Purchase

Twymeni Lorell Purchase was born July 19, 1966 to loving parents Willie Ray and Florence Hrobowski of Maywood, Illinois. She was granted her wings on February 23, 2016. Twymeni was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of El Paso, Texas where she was the financial secretary and active with the Choir and Youth Ministries, Deacons and Ministers’ Wives, Praise Dancers and served as a Sunday School teacher. Prior to joining Mount Zion, Twymeni and Steve were 18-year members of the First Baptist Church of Melrose Park, Illinois. Twymeni’s commitment to the ministry extended nationally in service to the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. where she served as Secretary and was a founding member of its Music Auxiliary. Twymeni formerly served as its choir director. Twymeni gave tirelessly of her time as a civic leader, having served as Secretary and President of the El Paso NAACP, Vice President of Programs for the Black El Paso Democrats, member of The City of El Paso Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee, and keynote speaker for a host of conferences and meetings. Twymeni was a point person for the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce “FAFSA Nights” and she was recognized for her volunteerism at local, regional, state and national levels. Twymeni leaves to grieve her husband, Steven Purchase, whom she married October 17, 1987 in their hometown of Maywood, Illinois. They were best friends and their marriage was blessed. In addition to Steve, Twymeni leaves to grieve her mother, brothers including William (Sheila), Ray , in-laws including parents George and Gracie Purchase, brothers Jerome (Karen), Cecil (Wende), Winston (Theresa) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends. Preceding Twymeni in death were her father and sister in-law Heather. Twymeni and Steve relocated to El Paso in 2006 with her employer, ADP, where she served as the Manager of Small Business Services. Twymeni was a graduate of Garfield Elementary and Proviso East H.S. in Maywood, Illinois. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the El Paso NAACP, P.O. Box 4455, El Paso, Texas 79914. Visitation will be from 3:00pm-9:00pm with Funeral Service at 4:00pm Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Additional Services entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home in Broadview, Illinois. Interment will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Broadview, Illinois. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
