WELDON HENRY FISBECK passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the age of 82, surrounded by his loving family. Weldon was a running back and track star for Flatonia High School and ran track at the University of Texas, tying the 1953 state track record for the 100 yard dash. He received his bachelor and master’s degree in Physical Education at UT Austin. He taught and coached before pursuing a career in business. He was the Director of Human Resources at The Popular Department store for over 20 years. After retiring, he worked for Graham Capital Management Group as an Investment Advisor and Financial Planner. He was a former member of the Sierra Club & past Education Chairman as well as Vice President of El Paso-Trans-Pecos Audubon Society. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty of 54 years. He is survived by his devoted daughters Sheryl Shioji (Alan), Ginger Escareno (Marc), Karen Campos (Roberto), 10 grandchildren: Megan, Jill and Sarah Shioji, Brandon, Jarod and Jackie Escareno, Jennifer LaPan (Derek), Rob Collings (Christina), Daniel and Elias Campos and 2 great-grandchildren: Madilynn Marshall and Piper LaPan. Services will be held privately by family.
