On July 4, 2026, Aiden Douglas Williams, age 17, entered eternal peace at home with his loving family and his faithful dogs. Aiden’s name, which means “little fire” in Gaelic, could not have suited him more. He was our firecracker, our light, and fittingly, Independence Day became the day his spirit began its journey to infinity…and beyond.

Born on June 3, 2009, in El Paso, Texas, Aiden was a proud fifth-generation El Pasoan who never tired of admiring the beauty of the city’s lights. He cherished his family’s rich heritage, which traced its roots to Mexico, Greece, and Tennessee.

He was a proud senior at New Horizons Home School Academy EAST and was looking forward to graduating early. He was extraordinarily disciplined, which correlated with his passion for health and fitness, and led him to explore careers in nutrition, personal training, and counseling. He had also recently discovered the joy of preparing healthy meals and baking.

When he was young, his Uncle Ernie lovingly nicknamed him “Little Hercules” because of his remarkable strength and athletic ability. As he grew, that physical strength was matched by an even greater strength of character. His courage, determination, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor made him truly one of a kind. He was wise far beyond his years.

Aiden was always eager to take on the world. At just nine months old, he quite literally took off running, and he quickly excelled in language, reading, writing, spelling, and grammar. His sharp mind and love of research made law and law enforcement natural interests, while his dedication and quest for knowledge of sparring, boxing, grappling and martial arts gave him confidence, discipline, and the ability to protect himself and others.

Adventure was woven into Aiden’s soul. He loved climbing trees, scaling mountains, hiking through state and national parks, and fearlessly jumping into lakes and rivers. As the years passed, he embraced roller coasters and every thrilling amusement park ride he could find, especially when sharing those adventures with his sister. Whether exploring nature or simply walking through his neighborhood, he rarely missed his goal of taking more than 10,000 steps each day.

Above all else, Aiden loved deeply. He had an instinct to protect those who could not protect themselves. At just four years old, he stood up to a group of older children who were teasing his friend at a neighborhood park. Without hesitation, he stepped in front of his friend and simply asked, “What did you say to my friend?” The older kids walked away. That was Aiden. Fiercely loyal, endlessly brave, and always willing to stand up for others. If you earned his friendship, you had it for life.

The love Aiden gave so freely will remain with all who knew him. Though our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the seventeen unforgettable years we shared with him. His laughter, strength, compassion, and adventurous spirit will continue to inspire us every day.

We will love you always, miss you beyond words, and carry you in our hearts forever.

Aiden is survived by his parents, Roger Williams and Patricia Kalderis Williams; his beloved sister, Olivia Williams; his grandmother Eva Arrieta (decd. Ernesto); aunts and uncles, Ernie and Hillary Arrieta, Melina Kalderi (Nikos and George), Dimitris and Chrysa Kalderis (Ariadni), their Mother Aria Kalderi (decd. George), Mike Stone, Vickie Walters-Stone, and Robyne Stone (decd. Tim); Godparents Katherine Valerie Vega (decd. Tio Henry) and Tom Prokopchuk (Marianela) along with many cherished cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles and dear friends who loved him deeply. He was welcomed into heaven by his grandfather George Kalderis and Jimmy Douglas Williams (Uncle Doug), along with generations of beloved family members who longed to embrace him.

He also leaves behind his faithful dogs, Rex and Rosie, whose quiet loyalty and love were a constant comfort and who miss him dearly.

Gathering will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Friday, Jul 24, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2026 at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to your favorite charity or to the Rescue Mission of El Paso, the Humane Society of El Paso, or Second Chance Wildlife Rescue in Aiden’s memory
