Albert Joseph Dincher

June 19, 1941 — July 21, 2013

Albert Joseph Dincher, 72, entered into God’s loving hands surrounded by his family on July 21, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Albert was born in Williamsport, PA on June 19, 1941 to Albert P. and Cecilia (Hiller) Dincher. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1959. Albert retired from the United States Army after serving his country honorably for over 20 years. He served a tour in the Vietnam War, was an Army recruiter for 11 years and a longtime member of the VFW. Albert and his family made El Paso, Texas their home for the last 32 years and maintained many close relationships from his hometown. He was known among visiting family and friends as the premier tour guide of the Southwest and captivating storyteller. His numerous nieces and nephews were endlessly entertained by his unprecedented memory that allowed him to recount adventures from his youth. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Winifred (O’Donnell) Dincher and children, Bernadine Rolniak (Dwayne) of Centerville, Ohio, Miriam and George of El Paso, TX and Monika Millard (Colin) of Cumming, GA. He will be greatly missed by his 5 grandchildren, Desiree, Jordyn, Joshua and Zachary and newborn Sawyer whose early but safe arrival brought joy to his Grandpa’s last two weeks. He will have a joyous reunion with his 2 pre-deceased sons, Albert Peter II and Erik Eugene, whom he missed dearly. Albert was one of eight children and is survived by one brother, Eugene Dincher (Rosemary) of Williamsport, PA and Flagstaff, AZ, and 2 sisters, Sister Celia Dincher of Danville, PA and Cecilia Dincher of Williamsport, PA. He was preceded in death by brothers Paul of Williamsport, PA, John of Allegany, NY and sisters Sister Ann Dincher of Danville, PA and Barbara Schneider of Williamsport, PA.
