In Loving Memory of Alberto Ronquillo

July 25, 1922 – October 24, 2025

Our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Alberto Ronquillo, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the remarkable age of 103. Surrounded by family, he departed this world peacefully, now reunited with our eternal Lord and his beloved wife, Encarnacion.

Born on July 25, 1922, in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Alberto and Refugio Ronquillo, Alberto was the third of seven children. Growing up in the years following the Mexican Revolution, he learned early the values of faith, humility, and perseverance. As a young boy, he helped herd cattle, instilling in him a deep sense of responsibility and an enduring work ethic.

Although his formal education ended after the sixth grade, Alberto’s determination carried him far. He began as a mason apprentice, working on the Las Vírgenes Dam in Delicias, Chihuahua, an experience that laid the groundwork for a lifetime of hard work and craftsmanship.

In 1958, Alberto moved his family to El Paso, Texas, in search of a better life. He began working at Mann Manufacturing, later joined his brother Roberto in running a mechanic shop, and eventually found his calling at the Ysleta Independent School District. There, he rose to Head Custodian and served faithfully for 15 years until he retired. After retiring, he and his wife, Encarnacion, spent their days traveling, visiting loved ones, and enjoying the simple moments they had worked so hard to earn.

Alberto met Encarnacion Ordoñez at a carnival in Delicias, Mexico, and from that day forward, they shared over seven decades of love, laughter, and faith. Married on October 21, 1947, they built a family grounded in devotion and respect, raising four sons, Albert (Maura), Arturo (Patricia), Jose Luis (Tila), and Mauricio (Esther).

He is preceded in death by his wife, Encarnacion, and siblings Alfonso, Raul, Guillermina, Maria Ana, and Roberto. He is survived by his sister Carmen Becerra, four sons, ten grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren, his proudest legacy.

Alberto found joy in the everyday cheering for his beloved Yankees, walking daily and spending time at his Senior Center among friends. A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows and later St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, his faith was a steady guide throughout his long life.

Alberto’s legacy lives on through his family, who will remember him for his unwavering work ethic, and devotion to loved ones. Family was always at the heart of everything Alberto did, guiding his choices and actions throughout his life. Nothing made him happier than being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Celebration of Alberto’s life will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes – East, 750 N. Carolina.
